Luxury Cottage Holiday Wales

Laugharne is a warm and welcoming town; it is fondly referred to as the place "Dylan Thomas got off the bus and forgot to get back on it"

Dylan Thomas lived on and off the town of Laugharne for most of his life. In fact, he is known to have written some of his most excellent works in this town. He resided at the Boathouse with his wife Caitlin and their children between 1949 and 1953.

It is often thought that New Quay in Ceredigion and Laugharne were Dylan's main source of inspiration. Dylan also resided in Eros in Gosport Street before removing to Sea View. The Pelican is to be found across the road from Browns Hotel.

This tall Georgian house is where Thomas would visit his father for a chat or simply to fill in the crossword. The sight of his ailing father inspired Thomas to jot down the famous poem titled "Do not go gentle into that good night." It was also in this very building that Dylan's body was laid out when he passed away in 1953.
